Effective date: 30 September 2026
This Refund Policy applies to purchases of Playlist Packer DJ from Playlist Packer (Pty) Ltd. It explains our voluntary change-of-mind refund offer as well as refunds and remedies that may apply under South African law.
Nothing in this Refund Policy excludes, restricts or replaces any consumer right or remedy that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or restrict.
All prices and refunds are stated in South African rand (ZAR). Playlist Packer is not presently registered as a VAT vendor and no VAT is charged.
1 Digital Software Licence
Playlist Packer DJ is digitally delivered software. No physical product is shipped. After verified payment, the licence key and download or access instructions are sent electronically to the email address used for the order.
2 Voluntary Seven Calendar Day Change-of-Mind Refund
In addition to any rights you may have under applicable law, we offer one voluntary change-of-mind refund per customer if:
• the request reaches us within seven calendar days after the purchase date;
• the licence has never been activated on any computer; and
• the customer has not previously received this voluntary change-of-mind refund.
After activation, this voluntary change-of-mind offer is no longer available.
This limitation applies only to our voluntary refund offer. It does not remove or reduce any cooling-off right, refund right, warranty or other remedy that may apply under the Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act or another applicable law.
2A Statutory cooling-off rights
Our voluntary refund offer is separate from statutory cooling-off rights. Where section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA) applies, a consumer may cancel without reason or penalty within seven days after receiving goods, or within seven days after conclusion of an agreement for services. ECTA permits only the direct cost of returning goods to be charged, and requires repayment within 30 days after cancellation.
ECTA contains exclusions, including where computer software was unsealed by the consumer and where services began with the consumer’s consent before the end of the cooling-off period. Whether an exclusion applies to downloaded or opened software depends on the facts and the applicable law. Downloading, opening or activating a licence is not treated by this policy as automatically removing statutory rights.
Where section 16 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) applies to a transaction resulting from direct marketing, the consumer may rescind it without reason or penalty by written notice or another recorded form within five business days after the later of conclusion of the transaction or delivery. The section 16 right does not apply to a transaction to which ECTA section 44 applies. Any refund and return requirements are governed by the applicable statutory provisions.
3 Defective, Non-Conforming or Undelivered Software
Playlist Packer DJ must perform in accordance with applicable consumer law and the material representations made for the version purchased.
If the software is defective, materially fails to perform as expressly described, cannot be delivered, or cannot be activated because of a problem on our side, please contact us promptly so that we can investigate the problem.
Where the Consumer Protection Act’s implied warranty of quality applies, a consumer may have rights relating to defective or non-conforming software, including the remedies provided by sections 55 and 56 of that Act.
Where sections 55 and 56 of the CPA apply, the statutory implied warranty ordinarily operates for six months after delivery. Within that period, where the requirements for such a remedy are met, the consumer may be entitled to direct that the defective software be repaired or replaced, or that the purchase price be refunded.
Where a repair has been carried out and applicable law requires a replacement or refund because the defect has not been remedied or a further qualifying defect occurs, we will provide the remedy required by law.
If an order cannot be delivered or performed within a period required by applicable law, any cancellation and refund rights provided by that law remain available.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits a non-excludable right or remedy under the Consumer Protection Act, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act or another applicable law.
4 Duplicate Purchases
If you accidentally purchase the same Playlist Packer DJ licence more than once, contact support as soon as possible.
Once we have verified that the additional transaction is genuinely a duplicate purchase and that the additional licence has not been separately used or transferred, we will correct the duplicate transaction and, where appropriate, refund the duplicate payment.
This section does not limit any additional right or remedy available under applicable law.
5 Matters That Are Not Automatically Product Defects
Subject to any applicable statutory right, a refund is not automatically due merely because:
• the customer changes their mind after activating the licence;
• the customer’s computer does not meet system requirements disclosed before purchase;
• the customer does not have suitable, readable or sufficiently organised local music files for local matching;
• a match requires review because the supplied request, filename or metadata is incomplete or ambiguous;
• an independent website, file format, operating system or service changes or becomes unavailable, unless continuing compatibility was expressly promised for the purchased version; or
• the software or licence has been misused, altered, shared or used contrary to the licence terms.
We assess each request on its facts.
This section does not override any right that applies because the software is defective, unsafe, misrepresented, unsuitable for a purpose protected by applicable law, or not delivered as agreed.
6 Failed Downloads or Delivery Problems
If payment has been successfully completed but you do not receive your licence key or download instructions, or the supplied download cannot reasonably be accessed because of a problem on our side, contact support.
We will first attempt to correct the delivery problem promptly. If we cannot supply the purchased software as agreed, we will provide any cancellation, replacement or refund remedy required by applicable law.
7 How to Request a Refund or Remedy
Email support@playlistpackerdj.com and provide:
• your name;
• the email address used for the purchase;
• your order number; and
• a short explanation of the request and any relevant error message.
We may ask for reasonable diagnostic information needed to investigate the request.
Do not send passwords, full payment-card or banking details, or music files unless support specifically requests a limited example and you are entitled to provide it.
8 Approved Refunds
Approved refunds will ordinarily be submitted through PayFast, our payment gateway, and returned to the original payment method wherever reasonably possible.
Playlist Packer does not control the time taken by PayFast, the customer’s bank, card scheme or another payment-service provider to complete a refund after it has been submitted.
Payment-provider or banking processing times may therefore apply. Where applicable law requires a refund to be made within a particular period, we will comply with that requirement.
We may request information reasonably necessary to locate and verify the original transaction. Customers must not send full payment-card numbers, card security codes, online-banking passwords or one-time PINs.
Once a purchase has been refunded, the associated licence may be disabled and must no longer be used.
Refund approval does not depend on the customer surrendering any statutory right. Where an ECTA cooling-off or fulfilment cancellation requires repayment within 30 days after cancellation, we will comply; shorter statutory refund periods apply where required. Provider processing times do not excuse non-compliance with an applicable deadline.
Please contact support first so that we can investigate a delivery or refund concern. A chargeback should not be used as a substitute for raising a concern that support can resolve. This request does not prohibit, delay or limit a legitimate chargeback, bank-dispute or other statutory right.
Our normal target is to respond to support enquiries within one business day. A response is not a promise that the enquiry or fault will be resolved within that time. Business days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and South African public holidays.
