Effective date: 30 September 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern the purchase and use of Playlist Packer DJ and the use of playlistpackerdj.com. By placing an order, activating a licence or using the software, you agree to these terms.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or limits any consumer right or remedy that applicable law does not permit us to exclude, restrict or limit.

2 What Playlist Packer DJ Does

Playlist Packer DJ is independent workflow software for DJs.

It accepts supported song-request information supplied by the user, matches requested songs against audio files in local folders selected by the user, and assists the user to review the proposed matches and organise the running order.

Playlist Packer DJ refers to the user’s existing local audio files. It does not create duplicate audio files.

Where supported, Playlist Packer DJ may create a text record or another neutral record containing playlist information and references to existing local files.

Playlist Packer DJ does not sell, licence, stream, download or supply songs or other music content.

No music licence, public-performance right, reproduction right or ownership right is included with the Playlist Packer DJ software licence. The customer remains responsible for obtaining and maintaining any rights, licences or permissions required for the music they possess, perform or otherwise use.

3 User-Supplied Playlist Information

Playlist Packer DJ may accept supported information that the user deliberately supplies, including pasted text, screenshots, PDF documents and supported playlist or data files.

The quality and completeness of results depend on the quality, completeness and accuracy of the information supplied.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that they are entitled to provide or use the information submitted to Playlist Packer DJ.

4 Local Library Matching and Playlist Organisation

The user chooses the local folders that Playlist Packer DJ may inspect for matching.

The software may read filenames, supported audio metadata and local file locations needed to identify possible matches.

Automated suggestions may be incomplete, ambiguous or incorrect. The customer must review the artist, title, version and selected file before relying on or confirming a match.

Playlist Packer DJ may record a reference to a selected existing file, such as its local file path, so that the match and running order can be organised.

Playlist Packer DJ does not create a new audio file or copy, move, rename, modify, overwrite or delete the existing audio.

In these terms, an organisation operation means confirming and organising selected matches, references and running order. It does not mean duplicating the songs.

Playlist Packer DJ does not include a dedicated function that prepares, formats or certifies a USB drive or other DJ hardware device. Any file transfer or hardware preparation carried out separately by the customer is outside Playlist Packer DJ’s operation and control.

5 Third-Party Products, Services and Trade Marks

Playlist Packer DJ and Playlist Packer (Pty) Ltd are independent of third-party music services, software suppliers, websites and hardware manufacturers.

A reference to a third-party product, file type, website or service is descriptive only and does not imply approval, certification, sponsorship, partnership or endorsement.

A provider-specific connection or other integration is not included merely because a third party publishes a webpage, link or file format.

Any such functionality may be introduced, changed, suspended or removed following appropriate technical, legal or commercial assessment.

The product description displayed at the time of purchase identifies the functions included in the purchased version.

Third-party products and services may change or become unavailable. Playlist Packer does not control them and cannot promise continuing compatibility unless that compatibility is expressly included in the product description for the purchased version.

6 Orders and Customer Review

Before finally placing an order, the customer must be given an opportunity to review the product, price and order information, correct mistakes and withdraw from the transaction.

The customer is responsible for providing accurate checkout and delivery information.

These Terms and Conditions and the applicable Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Delivery Policy must be available before purchase in a form the customer can access and retain.

The customer may save or print the published policies. The electronic order confirmation sent after purchase may also be retained by the customer as part of their transaction record.

An order is accepted after payment has been successfully verified and we confirm acceptance or deliver the licence.

We may refuse or cancel an order where payment has not been verified, fraud or material misuse is reasonably suspected, the product is unavailable, or the supplied order information is materially incorrect.

If payment has been received but we cannot supply the purchased product, the customer retains all remedies required by applicable law.

Before the order is concluded, checkout must draw section 18 and the customer’s responsibilities concerning match verification, backups and music licensing prominently to the customer’s attention. The customer must have a reasonable opportunity to read and understand those provisions.

7 Price and Founding Offer

Exactly the first 100 qualifying paid Playlist Packer DJ licences are allocated the Founding price of R599 once-off per licence.

Where a Founding allocation is available, checkout may reserve that allocation for up to 60 minutes while the customer completes payment.

A reservation by itself does not consume a Founding allocation.

Only successfully verified payment consumes a numbered Founding allocation.

Failed, cancelled, abandoned or expired unpaid transactions do not consume a Founding allocation.

Once a Founding allocation has been successfully paid and assigned, its numbered position is permanent and is not recycled after a later refund, reversal or chargeback.

After the first 100 successfully paid Founding allocations have been assigned, new qualifying purchases are charged the standard R899 once-off price per licence.

The total price displayed at checkout before the order is placed is the price payable for that order, subject to successful payment verification.

Any future promotion will be subject to the conditions displayed with that promotion.

All prices are stated in South African rand (ZAR). Playlist Packer is not presently registered as a VAT vendor and no VAT is charged.

8 Payment and Digital Delivery

Payments are processed through PayFast using the payment methods made available during checkout. The customer may be redirected to, or presented with, a PayFast-controlled payment environment.

Payment processing is subject to PayFast’s applicable terms, security procedures, authentication requirements and fraud-prevention controls. Participating banks, card schemes and other authorised payment-service providers may also be involved in completing or administering the transaction.

Playlist Packer DJ does not intentionally collect or store the customer’s full payment-card number, card security code, online-banking password or one-time PIN.

A browser payment response, payment screen or order notification does not by itself constitute verified payment. An order is accepted and the licence is fulfilled only after Playlist Packer receives and verifies a successful payment notification.

A pending, cancelled, failed, reversed, disputed or unverified payment does not constitute completed payment and may delay or prevent delivery until the transaction is resolved.

Payment transaction references and status information may be retained for order fulfilment, reconciliation, customer support, fraud prevention, disputes, chargebacks, refunds and legal compliance.

Playlist Packer DJ is delivered digitally. No physical product, music file, disc or USB device is shipped.

Delivery ordinarily includes an order or payment confirmation, licence key, download link or access instructions, and relevant installation or activation information sent electronically to the email address supplied during checkout.

Electronic delivery and verification messages may be sent through Brevo, an external email-delivery service acting on Playlist Packer’s instructions. Limited delivery records may show the recipient address, message identifier, sending time, delivery or failure status and related technical events.

The handling of personal information by Playlist Packer, Brevo and PayFast is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Further information about electronic delivery is provided in the Delivery Policy. Unless the parties agree otherwise, Playlist Packer will execute the order within 30 days after receiving it. If Playlist Packer cannot execute the order within that period, the consumer may cancel on seven days’ written notice, and any payment must be refunded within 30 days after cancellation. Our normal target is to respond to support enquiries within one business day. A response is not a promise that the enquiry or fault will be resolved within that time. Business days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and South African public holidays.

9 Licence Grant

Subject to payment and compliance with these terms, Playlist Packer (Pty) Ltd grants the purchaser a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable licence to install and use the purchased version of Playlist Packer DJ for the purchaser’s own DJ work or internal business operations.

One licence may be active on a maximum of two supported computers in total.

The two computers may use supported Windows or macOS versions in any permitted combination.

A third simultaneous active computer is not permitted and may be refused.

A legitimate repaired or replacement computer may be authorised only after the support-controlled release or transfer process described below.

The licence is a once-off purchase for the purchased version and is not a subscription.

Purchase of the current version does not guarantee that every future major version, separately identified product or separately priced future feature will be supplied without additional charge.

10 Activation, Licence Validation and Offline Use

Initial activation requires an internet connection.

Licence validation occurs at application startup when an internet connection is available. Playlist Packer DJ is not designed to perform continuous licence checks during an already-open DJ session.

Each successful online startup licence check begins a new 30-day offline allowance for that computer.

Starting Playlist Packer DJ offline during that allowance does not restart or extend the 30-day period.

If fewer than 30 days have passed since the computer’s last successful online startup licence check, Playlist Packer DJ may be used offline in accordance with the applicable licence status.

If more than 30 days have passed since the last successful online startup check, the computer must connect to the internet and complete a successful licence check before starting another authorised session.

Loss of internet access, expiry of the offline allowance or a licence-service problem that occurs after Playlist Packer DJ has already opened an authorised session will not interrupt that open session.

11 Computer Replacement and Licence Transfers

Computer releases and licence transfers are controlled through Playlist Packer DJ Support.

There is no customer self-service computer reset or deactivation process.

If an activated computer is replaced, repaired, lost, stolen or no longer usable, the customer should contact support@playlistpackerdj.com.

After reasonable verification of the purchase and replacement circumstances, Support may release one existing computer registration so that a legitimate replacement computer can be activated.

The licence may never have more than two active computer registrations at the same time.

12 Customer Responsibilities

The customer must:

• use only music files, playlist information and other material that the customer is legally entitled to possess and use;

• comply with applicable copyright, music-licensing, venue, broadcasting and public-performance requirements;

• review proposed matches and confirm the selected title, artist and version before relying on the organised playlist or performing;

• maintain appropriate backups of their music library, Playlist Packer DJ projects and relevant business records;

• protect their licence key and account information from unauthorised use; and

• use a supported computer that meets the system requirements disclosed for the purchased version.

13 Prohibited Use

The customer may not:

• sell, rent, sublicense, publish, distribute or share the software or licence key outside the permitted licence use;

• bypass, defeat or interfere with activation, validation, security or computer limits;

• reverse engineer, decompile or modify the software except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction;

• use Playlist Packer DJ to obtain, distribute or use music unlawfully;

• use Playlist Packer DJ or the website to access a third-party service without authority or contrary to applicable law or the third party’s applicable terms; or

• use Playlist Packer DJ or the website for fraudulent, harmful or unlawful purposes.

14 Matching Results and Backups

Song matching depends on the playlist information supplied, filenames, supported embedded metadata, library organisation and versions available in the customer’s own collection.

Results may not always be exact.

The customer remains responsible for reviewing proposed matches and deciding which existing local file, if any, should be associated with each requested song.

Playlist Packer DJ is designed to leave original audio files unchanged.

Computer hardware, storage devices, operating systems, third-party software and actions outside Playlist Packer DJ may nevertheless fail or result in loss.

The customer should maintain appropriate backups and review the organised playlist before relying on it at an event.

15 Intellectual Property

Playlist Packer DJ, its code, design, branding, documentation and related material are owned by or licensed to Playlist Packer (Pty) Ltd and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law.

The Playlist Packer DJ licence grants permission to use the software in accordance with these terms. It does not transfer ownership of the software or its intellectual property to the customer.

The customer retains whatever rights they lawfully hold in their local music files, playlist information and event information. Playlist Packer claims no ownership of that material merely because it is processed locally by the software.

Playlist Packer claims no ownership of that material merely because it is processed locally by Playlist Packer DJ.

16 Updates and Support

We may provide maintenance updates, fixes, security changes or compatibility changes.

Where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, licensing integrity or continued operation, installation of an update may be required.

A future major version or separately identified feature may be offered under different terms or at an additional price.

Support is available through support@playlistpackerdj.com.

Support does not include supplying music, determining whether a customer has the necessary rights to music, repairing unrelated computer problems, organising an entire music library on the customer’s behalf, or guaranteeing the continued operation of an independent third-party service.

Our normal target is to respond to support enquiries within one business day. A response is not a promise that the enquiry or fault will be resolved within that time. Business days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and South African public holidays.

Discontinued versions and activation services

The once-off licence is for the purchased version. It does not promise indefinite support, compatibility updates or availability of online activation infrastructure. If support for a version is discontinued, we will give reasonable advance notice explaining the effect on support and activation. If the activation service for a legitimately purchased version is permanently discontinued, we will take reasonable steps, where reasonably practicable, to provide a final offline activation mechanism or another reasonable means of continuing authorised use. Any alternative remains subject to the licence’s permitted use and computer limits. Nothing in this provision removes a statutory right or permits us to avoid an obligation that applicable law requires us to honour.

17 Refunds and Consumer Rights

Playlist Packer offers a voluntary change-of-mind refund in accordance with the Refund Policy.

Under that voluntary offer, one refund per customer may be requested within seven calendar days after purchase provided that the licence has never been activated.

Activation affects only the voluntary change-of-mind offer.

It does not remove or reduce any statutory right or remedy that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or restrict.

The Refund Policy also explains the process relating to duplicate purchases, defective or non-conforming software, failed delivery and other refund or remedy requests.

Where applicable law provides a cooling-off, cancellation, repair, replacement, refund or other consumer right, that right applies according to the law.

18 IMPORTANT — Quality, Availability and Limitation of Liability

Please read this section carefully because it limits certain risks and liabilities to the extent permitted by law.

Playlist Packer (Pty) Ltd will supply Playlist Packer DJ and related support with the quality and care required by applicable law.

We do not promise that every requested song will be matched automatically, that every file or data source will be readable, that every automated suggestion will be correct, or that Playlist Packer DJ will operate without interruption in every possible computer environment.

The customer remains responsible for reviewing proposed matches, maintaining appropriate backups and ensuring that their use of music and third-party services is lawful.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Playlist Packer (Pty) Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from incorrect or unreviewed matches, insufficient backups, unlawful use of music, unsupported systems, customer actions outside Playlist Packer DJ, or changes made by an independent third party.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where applicable law does not permit that liability to be excluded or limited, including liability arising from gross negligence, wilful misconduct or another non-excludable legal obligation.

19 Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate a licence where there is reasonable evidence of a payment reversal, fraud, unauthorised licence sharing, attempted circumvention of activation controls or another material breach of these terms.

A refunded or revoked licence may no longer activate or renew.

Where reasonably appropriate, we will give the customer an opportunity to explain or remedy the issue before permanent action is taken.

Suspension or termination does not remove rights that arose before termination and does not remove any consumer right that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.

20 Privacy and Security

Personal information is handled in accordance with the Playlist Packer DJ Privacy Policy.

Customers are responsible for protecting their computers, email accounts and licence information against unauthorised access.

A customer contacting Support should provide only information reasonably necessary for the support request.

Customers must never send passwords, full payment-card details, online-banking credentials or an entire music library to Playlist Packer DJ Support.

21 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions for future purchases or where reasonably necessary to reflect legal, security or product changes.

The effective date will be updated whenever the published Terms and Conditions change.

A material change will not retrospectively remove a right already acquired under an accepted order or applicable law.

22 Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

The parties should first try to resolve a complaint through support@playlistpackerdj.com.

If a complaint cannot be resolved directly, either party may use any court, regulator, ombud or alternative-dispute process that has jurisdiction.

Nothing in this clause prevents a consumer from exercising any remedy or using any forum available under applicable law.
